Community Activities and Events Manager
Compensation: $62,000 Salaried Exempt

Description of Work: The Community Activities and Events Manager is responsible for planning and managing non-fundraising activities and events including Boulder Pridefest, Longmont Pride, and other Pride Month activities and events. They serve as the lead staff for activities and events that are not currently contained in program areas that are staffed including arts-based, 50+, and parents and family programming. This position also serves as the leader of the volunteer program and supervises the Volunteer and Events Coordinator in developing and delivering an efficient and people-centered approach to volunteer recruitment, management, and retention.
This position is required to attend events outside of normal work hours. This position will also be responsible for other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: answering telephone calls, managing volunteers, and assisting members of the community who are seeking resources.
Essential Functions:
Manage the planning, preparation, budgeting, and execution for Pride Month activities and events, including Boulder Pridefest and Longmont Pride, with special attention to ensuring details such as permitting, contracting entertainment, and vendor coordination
Manage activities and events that do not fit into currently established program areas, including, but not limited to, book groups, 50+ social opportunities, arts-based programming, and community fitness offerings
Provide leadership for expansion of activities and events to other service areas and virtually as the organization grows
Provide support and supervision to the Volunteer and Events Coordinator and the Trans and Racial Equity Coordinator
Consults with stakeholders to understand the purpose and needs for the events and with the communications team and external contractors as needed on branding and promotion of activities and events
Identify and manage contractors as needed to ensure the success of activities and events
Create and manage budgets related to Pride Month and other activities and events as needed
With the Volunteer and Events Coordinator, ensure that the volunteer program functions effectively to meet the needs of the organization and the community through recruitment, training, and oversight
Ensure data tracking at activities and events, including volunteer hours
Apply for necessary permitting and ensure compliance with city and county guidelines for any events, as needed
Support fundraising events, including volunteer oversight, as needed
Assist in seeking funding to support activities and events from donors, sponsors, and grants, as needed

Qualifications:
Computer proficiency required, Microsoft Office Programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and Google Drive. CRM experience preferred.
Bilingual Spanish/English language skills strongly preferred
Highly organized
This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift 50 pounds, work at a computer for three hours a day or more, and have tolerance for interruptions throughout the day
Must have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Access to reliable transportation required
