Out Boulder County Receives $100,000 General Operating Grant from Conboy Foundation

Boulder, Colo. — Out Boulder County (OBC) will expand its advocacy, education, research and programming with a recently received $100,000 donation from California-based Conboy Foundation.
This general operating contribution provides unrestricted funding, allowing OBC to allocate money to the programs that need it the most — a critical need as OBC extends its work into Northern Colorado.
“Out Boulder County is grateful to have partners like Conboy Foundation who believe in our mission to create a more just, equitable and connected world for LGBTQ+ people,” says OBC Deputy Director Bruce Parker. “With this generous donation, we’ll take our work into Northern Colorado, where programs and services are sorely needed, particularly for LGBTQ+ youth.”
Conboy Foundation continues the legacy of Emmy-award winning American television producer John Conboy, who was encouraged to pursue a career in the arts by his drama teacher, Helen Foley.
“Conboy Foundation is dedicated to helping people find their talents and abilities, along with the courage and discipline to fulfill them,” said a representative for Conboy Foundation. “We know one person can make all the difference — just like Helen did for John long ago. That is why we choose to support Out Boulder County. We have seen first-hand the positive difference the dedicated people at OBC make in the lives of this LGBTQ community and beyond.”
In 2022, OBC served approximately 20,000 community members through events, services, and activities funded by gifts from more than 1,300 donors. The organization expanded into Northern Colorado in the fall of 2023, starting with LGBTQ+ youth and behavioral health services.
